Temporary Pool Closure

Please read the following!

Dear YMCA Members,

First off, I want to thank you for being such a dedicated YMCA member! We truly value each and every one of our members with our commitment to providing programs and facilities that meets the needs of our community.

Our pool is one of our best assets for our community. In fact, we had over 25,000 visits to our pool in 2021! As many of you know, the roof over the pool is in very poor condition. By replacing the roof of the pool, we will effectively correct the issues related to the pool area, resulting in a safer and more controlled climate for pool users. Therefore, beginning April 1st, the pool will be closed for 30 days to replace the roof. Our plan is to open back up on May 1st. If the project gets done sooner and the pool is ready to go, we will reopen the pool prior to May 1st, and will notify all members through our social media platforms.

Some of you may have concerns about continuing your membership while the pool is closed. If you wish to put your membership on hold while the pool is shutdown, you will not have to pay your membership dues. You can place your membership on hold by stopping by the Welcome Center during normal business hours. However, I want to encourage you to keep you membership active, as this is a huge undertaking and cost to the YMCA. Your membership dollars can help alleviate some of the financial burden and ensure that we can continue to provide high quality facilities for our community to use.

Thank you for your support as we delve into this much needed improvement!

If you have any question on the pool closing, please reach out to me through email or phone.

Sincerely,

Jamie Shirk
